The ASUS Robotics & AI Center is seeking a Frontend App Developer to join our global research and development team. This role is central to designing and building responsive, high-performance cross-platform mobile and web applications targeted at customers.
We are looking for an experienced engineer with strong UI development skills, a deep understanding of efficient state management, and a commitment to writing maintainable, scalable code. The ideal candidate will bring a customer-first mindset, enthusiasm for cross-platform development, and a passion for delivering intuitive user interfaces.
Roles and Responsibilities
Real-Time Data Processing: Develop mobile and web UIs for visualizing maps, location, and status data for robotics use cases.
Mission Control Tools: Design and implement interactive interfaces for creating, editing, and automatically generating robotic mission plans.
Streaming Integration: Implement and optimize low-latency video and telemetry streaming for mobile and web clients.
Hardware Integration: Integrate applications with embedded hardware and on-device systems (e.g., GPS/GNSS and custom radio).
Performance Optimization: Proactively reduce latency in real-time data feeds by collaborating with backend and robotics teams.
Software Quality: Follow and champion modern development best practices in a cross-functional team, including maintaining architectural clarity and writing clean, well-tested code.
Customer Focus: Work directly with customers for requirements gathering, debugging, and user experience improvements.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
Industry Experience: 5+ years developing production mobile and/or web applications.
Core Framework Mastery: Proven, hands-on experience with Flutter and/or React Native for cross-platform development. Experience with React or Next.js for web applications is highly valued.
Deployment Expertise: Deep understanding of mobile app store submission, launch, and update processes.
UI/UX Proficiency: Strong technical grasp of authentication/authorization processes and integration, and expertise with UI design using tools (e.g., Figma).
Engineering Best Practices: Deep understanding of coding standards, design patterns, source control, and test automation.
Observability & Infrastructure: Familiarity with application telemetry (A/B testing), cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, Azure, or AWS), and CI/CD systems.
Geospatial & Visualization: Experience with GPS-based navigation, coordinate systems, and UI visualizations is a significant plus.
Bonus Skills: Knowledge of Python, C++, Rust, and/or Go.
